Embed your own in three steps
- Set up the wheel. Open the wheel, type your names, one per line, and press the Embed button next to Share link.
- Choose the look. Pick light, dark or the visitor’s own setting, a colour set for the wheel and the size. The code changes as you choose.
- Copy the code and paste it into your page. Use the HTML view of your editor, a “Custom HTML” block or the code field of your learning platform.
What you can embed
Four tools come with an Embed button. The settings you made in the tool travel with the code.
- Spin the Wheel: the visitor spins, the winner appears in a pop-up and can be removed for the next spin.
- Random Name Picker: draw one or several names, with or without repeats.
- Random Group Generator: split the list into teams by number of groups or by group size.
- List Randomizer: put the list into a random order.
The giveaway picker is not offered as an embed, because it works with pasted comments that do not belong inside a link.
What you can set
- The list. Your names travel inside the link, after the # sign. Browsers never send that part to a server. To change the names later, press Embed again with the new list and replace the code.
- Colours. Light, dark or whatever the visitor’s device uses. The wheel comes in four colour sets: Classic, Ocean, Sunset and Berry.
- Size. “Fits the width” scales the frame with your column, up to 600 pixels wide. Choose “Fixed size” if your editor removes style attributes from the code.
- Full screen. The code allows full screen, so the full screen button works on a projector. If your editor removes that part, the wheel still works.
Where it works
- WordPress. Add a “Custom HTML” block and paste the code.
- Google Sites. Choose Insert, then Embed, switch to the option for code and paste the code.
- Wix, Squarespace and others. Use the “Embed HTML” element or a code block and paste the code.
- Moodle and other learning platforms. Open the HTML view (the
<>button) of a page and paste the code. If your platform removes frames, ask the administrator. - Google Classroom. Classroom posts do not show frames. Attach the link to the wheel instead.
Please keep the link under the wheel
The link is the only thing we ask for in return. It tells readers and search engines where the wheel comes from. It is an ordinary link, so you can style it to fit your page; please do not hide it.
Privacy for your visitors
The embedded wheel sets no cookies, stores nothing on the visitor’s device, loads nothing from other companies and does not use our reach measurement. The list is processed in the visitor’s browser. Like any embedded content, the frame is loaded from our server, which sees the visitor’s IP address for a short time (see the privacy policy).
FAQ
Is embedding free?
Yes. Setting up, embedding and spinning are free, without an account and without ads.
Do I have to keep the link below the wheel?
Please do. It is how readers find out where the wheel comes from, and it is all we ask in return.
Can I change the names after embedding?
Yes. Open the tool, change the list, press Embed and replace the old code with the new one.
Can visitors change the names?
No. The list is fixed by your code. Visitors can spin, remove a winner for their own session and restore the list.
Which language does the frame use?
The language of the page where you pressed Embed. Open the German wheel and you get German buttons.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. With “Fits the width” the wheel shrinks with the column, and all buttons stay easy to tap.
